JOB FUNCTION / SUMMARY:

This job assists with the domestic and international information reporting functions of the tax department. This position will help process the annual and daily processing for 1099 and 1042-S reporting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Posts tax information into the tax software from source documents.
  • Contacts Account Officers, Deposit Services and/or Lending Services to obtain information missing from the submitted documents.
  • Completes tax document tracking log to assure all information is received and entered in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Works assigned areas for testing, processing, and/or correcting annual 1099 documents and reports.
  • Posts tax withholding notices into the tax software.
  • Obtains and submits subpoenaed tax information.
  • Timely and accurately completes calculations and reconciliations of tax-related accounts.
  • Processes and reports daily withholding of taxes.
  • Opens and distributes mail.
  • Files documents as required.
  • Performs all other duties and special projects as assigned.
  • Incumbent is required to comply with all applicable federal, state, and local banking and industry related laws and regulations including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act.

None

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE:

  • No certificates or licenses required. High school diploma required - some college preferred.
  • Knowledge of computerized tax software preferred
  • Strong writing and communication skills including proficiency with MS PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills

ESSENTIAL MENTAL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to learn computerized tax software
  • Ability to operate a keyboard if required to perform the essential job functions
  • Ability to read and interpret a document if required to perform the essential job functions
  • Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 10 pounds if required to perform the essential job functions. If the employee is unable to lift/move/carry this weight and can be accommodated without causing the department/division an "undue hardship" then the employee must be accommodated; hence omitting lifting/moving/carrying as a physical requirement.
