Business Development Director Opportunity

Emerald Coast Behavioral Hospital provides inpatient treatment services to adolescents and adults at our 86-bed facility in Panama City, FL and outpatient services to adolescents and adults at our three outpatient centers located throughout the Florida Panhandle. We are an acute stabilization facility working with a diverse population of patients. Diagnoses include depression, personality disorders, chemical dependency, PTSD, schizophrenia and detoxification from opiates, benzodiazepines and alcohol. Additionally, we offer specialized treatment for active-duty military members through our Military Resiliency Program. Panama City, FL is located on the panhandle of northwest Florida on beautiful St. Andrews Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. We are looking for a Business Development Director who enjoys working in a fast-paced, dynamic, and collaborative environment and is committed to sharing empathy, compassion, and respect to change lives.

The Business Development Director is responsible for the development, implementation, and continuous refinement of the facility's business development plans. Achieves the desired utilization of the organization's continuum of care through the effective application of marketing principles and methods. Primarily responsible for implementation and development of specialty programs and referral development. Organizes and administers contract services to provide high quality patient care, assists in establishing Standards of Practice, ensures compliance with standards and regulations, and provides financial management.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Builds and leads a team of professionals who assists in implementing the business development plan to exceed admission targets by focusing on developing and managing productive, long-term referral relationships with primary existing and new referral sources.
  • Acts as facility liaison with existing and new referral sources and providers. Promotes and educates on ECBH programs, opportunities, and assists in resolving any concerns. Utilizes clinical and non-clinical employees as needed to leverage community relations and enhance facility's role as a leader in behavior health. Maintains a data base of contacts and enhanced existing contact list in accordance with company goals.
  • Develops marketing materials that enhance facility's image while meeting Joint Commission, CMS, Baker Act and Starks Laws guidelines.
  • Develops and implements monthly, seasonal, and annual strategies, and evaluates results correspondingly. Develops personal marketing plan.
  • Represents hospital at appropriate meetings, community task forces and events. Identifies, initiates, schedules, and presents to appropriate groups in designated territory.
  • Manages all Managed Care contracting.
  • Maintains a working relationship with Admissions, Clinical Services, Program Directors, and appropriate clinical staff in order to remain knowledgeable of current programs.
  • Plans, organizes, develops, and implements internal and community educational programs.
  • Daily travel required.
  • Acts as Administrator on Call on a rotation basis.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field is required. Master's Degree preferred.
  • Three (3) years' experience in health care, business development or marketing environment with measurable business development results required. Three (3) years management/supervisory experience strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and service excellence skills. Must be detail oriented and able to multi-task and change direction quickly. Presents oneself in a positive and professional manner through appearance and conduct.
  • Active driver's license with record that meets Facility and Corporate Risk requirements.
