JMT's Asheville Construction Management Team is seeking a Utility Transportation Technician II to apply standard inspection procedures for multiple NCDOT project coordinating the installation and or relocation of both overhead and underground utilities throughout Division 11. Division 11 covers Alleghany, Ashe, Caldwell, Surry, Watauga, Wilkes, and Yadkin Counties. Ideal candidate must have excellent communication skills, comfortable with speaking with contractor personnel and the public. Position summary: Full-time, long-term, permanent position. Applies standard inspection and utility coordination for NCDOT Contracts during and after construction for structural quality, general safety, and conformance to plans, specifications, and codes. Working Conditions Work is performed in the field. Ability to extensively perform bending, kneeling, standing, shoveling, and lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs. as needed.
