*Description*
100% remote role; must sit within Iowa, the Quad Cities region, and Wisconsin. The Coder II will review, analyze, and accurately assign ICD-10 diagnosis and procedure codes as well as CPT-4/HCPC codes for assuring optimum reimbursement, internal and external reporting, research, and regulatory requirements. The Coder will accurately code all diagnosis and procedures as documented in the medical record following the Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting. The Coder II will be able to code Complex cases (excluding OP ancillary/series). Daily Duties: Assigns codes for all diagnoses, treatments, and procedures according to the appropriate classification system for all encounters and according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards. Codes Complex cases (excluding OP ancillary/series) Utilizes technical coding principles and MS-DRG and APC reimbursement expertise to assign appropriate ICD-10 diagnoses and procedures and CPT/HCPCS procedure codes. Abides by the Standards of Ethical Coding as set forth by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) and adheres to official coding guidelines. Knowledge in all coding applications relevant to area coding. Maintains productivity expectations and maintains quality scores at or above 95% *Additional Skills & Qualifications* Completion of nationally recognized coding program - AHIMA/AAPC RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, CCP, CEDC, CIC and/or CBCS certification required Professional Medical Coding experience in an acute care setting - 3+ years Ability to code complex coding - excludes outpatient ancillary/series Must have an understanding of injections and infusions coding Must have EHR experience Work from home space required PREFER: Previous ED medical coding experience EPIC experience *Experience Level* Entry Level *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $28.00/hr.
