A DAY IN THE LIFE:

• Recommends and implements security controls with expertise in systems security and cloud platforms.

• Collaborates with application development teams to create and maintain a Secure Product Development Life-cycle process to ensure that cybersecurity requirements/controls can be embedded within the product development process.

• Partners with software architects to perform secure software design/architecture reviews.

• Identifies potential risks, threats, and vulnerabilities present in the environment, develops, and provides guidance for appropriate security controls to mitigate.

• Coordinates with development teams to conduct product cyber security risk assessment and develop mitigation plans.

• Serves as a security expert and provides guidance and technical leadership to other staff members.

• Reviews SCA reports and makes recommendations

• Works with development and QA teams to establish and maintain unit testing tools and QA automation tools.

• Leads cybersecurity initiatives for use of AI (Agentic, MCP, 3rd Party)

• Deploys mitigations that address cybersecurity risk early and prior to exploitation.

• Supports compliance/certification activities and participates in security audits/reviews.

• Keeps abreast of and provides recommendations on emerging security technologies/tools

• Ensures compliance with company policies, including Privacy/HIPAA, and other legal and regulatory requirements.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

WHEN & WHERE YOU'LL WORK:

Remote: This position is fully remote and open to candidates within the United States. Equipment for the role will be provided and training will occur virtually.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

• Excellent verbal and written skills with an ability to present technical specifications and solutions.

• Demonstrated experience in cybersecurity and privacy.

• Extensive experience in support of compliance/certification activities and participating in security audits/reviews.

• Extensive experience in monitoring cybersecurity information sources for identification and detection of cybersecurity vulnerabilities and risk.

• In depth understanding of unit testing tools and QA automation tools

• Ability to conduct application cybersecurity risk assessment and develop mitigation plans.

• In-depth understanding of Azure cloud security configurations.

• Extensive experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, etc.)

• Experience with medical product safety risk and the relationship with product cyber security risk.

EXTRA AWESOME:

• B.S. in computer science or equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience.

• Equivalent education includes technical school training and certifications in networks and servers.

• Technical certifications within information security (CISSP, CCSP, GIAC or equivalents).

• 10 years of experience working in as a security/cybersecurity engineer within CI/CD pipeline

• Experience working with Git repositories, software build tools, and software deployment tools

• Experience with .Net, Python, Node.JS, or similar languages

• Experience with unit testing and automated QA testing

• Experience identifying and troubleshooting risks with products through entire lifecycle

• Experience automating Microsoft Azure.

• Experience working with DevOps methodologies.

• Experience with Docker/Kubernetes.

• Experience working with Git repositories, software build tools, and software deployment tools

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

The starting base pay range for this position is $169,000 - $215,400 annually. Base pay will vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and may also fluctuate depending on candidate's location and the overall job market. In addition to base pay, Tandem offers a competitive compensation package that includes bonus and a robust benefits package.
