The Position The Opportunity

Join us as a member of Roche Sequencing Solution's Verification & Validation team, where you will be responsible for developing the test plans, verification strategies, traceability, and test infrastructure for Roche Digital Pathology products. You will test cutting-edge, distributed, scale-out Next-Generation Digital Scanning software to ensure highest possible software quality for disease diagnostics.

The Sr Software Verification and Validation Engineer will debug software products using systematic tests to develop, apply, and maintain quality standards for company products. You will develop, modify, and execute software test plans and programs for testing; analyze and write test standards and procedures. Maintain documentation of test results to assist in debugging and modification of software.

You are consulting with development engineers in the resolution of problems. and ensuring that quality computer integration into the overall functions of scientific computation, data acquisition, and processing.

In this role, you are also:

  • Working independently to create, maintain, and execute manual test plans.

  • Creating traceability between test plans and formal requirement documents.

  • Participating in Scrum meetings, be involved in requirements gathering, user stories and test cases creation, and defects reporting.

  • Identifying software defects as early as possible in the software development process, and problems resolution to management.

  • Working with cross-functional teams and a variety of disciplines, such as scientists, regulatory, and quality to gain an understanding of the product, which will aid the creation of the test plans.

  • Participating in the evaluation of tools, test development, and automation environment used for software verification.

  • Mentoring team members in best practices and skills development.

Who You Are
  • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or a related engineering field.

  • Minimum of two (2) years directly related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Your experience is related to manual testing of Digital Scanning software in an Agile software development environment.

  • Experience working in a regulated medical device environment, following Design Control procedures (such as IEC 62304 FDA 21 CFR 820, etc.).

Relocation benefits are not offered for this position.

The expected salary range for this position based on Santa Clara is $118,658.00 - $151,152.00. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
