Compensation

Salary Range: $37.89 - $52.75 / hour

The pay range above represents the lowest possible rate for the position and the highest possible rate. Factors that may be used to determine where newly hired employees will be placed in the pay range include the employee specific skills and qualifications, relevant years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Most often, a newly hired employee will be placed below the midpoint of the range.

Pay for PRN positions is calculated differently than Full-Time, Regular Part-Time, and Part-Time positions. PRN Rates depend on the position and other factors, including years of experience, or shift commitment according to the department policy. PRN differential is added in certain positions.



Responsibilities

Position Overview:
The Electrician III is a senior-level role responsible for the operation, maintenance, and strategic oversight of the Health System's entire electrical distribution system, ensuring uninterrupted service across all facilities, including emergency generators, branch circuits, and high-voltage equipment. This advanced role requires extensive expertise in maintaining, repairing, and servicing all Health System-owned electrical systems, motors, switches, controllers, and switchgear of all voltages up to and including 460 volts and must be held by a candidate with a current California C-10 Electrical Contractor license, demonstrating the ability to independently manage complex projects and ensure compliance with all applicable codes and regulations. The Electrician III leads complex projects, mentors junior electricians, coordinates with vendors, and implements system improvements to enhance operational efficiency and safety, and must be able to troubleshoot, plan, and execute repairs on complex equipment and critical systems. This position may require work during nights, weekends, and holidays to respond to emergencies or critical operational needs.



Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • California Electrical Contractor's License (C-10)
  • Valid CA Driver License
  • Ongoing Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) that is insurable under Community Memorial Healthcare's insurance coverage
  • Ten (10) years of experience with national, local, and other electrical codes and regulations
  • Ten (10) years of experience reading plans and blueprints

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with plumbing and mechanical equipment
  • Knowledge of tools and instrumentation used for troubleshooting and repair

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  1. Replaces conduit, wires, switch boxes, controllers, lights, and other electrical components as needed to repair services in existing structures. Installs and terminates cables for voice and data applications.
  2. Performs maintenance checks and testing of life safety equipment, including emergency generators, pump and fan motors, boiler controls, electrical distribution panels, relays, and breakers.
  3. Maintains incoming feeders, distribution breakers, transformers, and switchgear.
  4. Logs activities on work orders, preventive maintenance cards, record books, and related documents.
  5. Assists in the proper operation of physical spaces, including auxiliary equipment such as heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC).
  6. Responds to requests for heating and cooling adjustments.
  7. Assists Building Engineer personnel in troubleshooting equipment problems.
  8. Troubleshoots and makes minor adjustments to television equipment.
  9. Assists other team members as needed.
  10. Completes parts and materials runs.
  11. Ensures proper operation of physical plant equipment, including auxiliary systems such as fans, pumps, air handling, and medical gas systems.
  12. Assists Building Engineer personnel with preventive maintenance and repair of systems throughout Community Memorial Healthcare, including sterilizers, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, and refrigeration equipment.
  13. Troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs nurse call systems, electric beds, televisions, and other patient-related equipment.
  14. Maintains and tests emergency generators as applicable.
  15. Responds to trouble calls from all Community Memorial Healthcare departments, including plumbing, electrical, and other areas.
  16. Assists with responding to trouble calls for all clinic buildings, including plumbing, electrical, and other needs.
  17. Completes repairs to operating room electrical equipment.
  18. Assists with vendor selection for new materials and equipment purchases.
  19. Performs preventive maintenance on non-medical equipment such as air handling units, dish machines, and exhaust fans.
  20. Installs and maintains pumps, compressors, air handling equipment, and refrigeration systems.
  21. Performs repairs on non-medical equipment, including dietary, environmental services, beds, lighting, and HVAC systems.
  22. Serves as a member of Community Memorial Healthcare's fire response team.
  23. Orders parts as needed.
  24. Maintains composure under stressful or emergency situations.
  25. Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  26. Performs other duties as assigned.
