Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Quality, cost, delivery, service, and technology
2. Identify potential suppliers and request quotes for new and existing products and services
3. Analyze market trends and recommend product substitutions
4. Create and develop sourcing strategies
5. Negotiate competitive prices and favorable terms and conditions
6. Create and manage purchase orders and review related invoices
7. Complete quarterly planning parameter reviews
8. Create and manage Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) programs, bulk-buy programs, and stocking programs
9. Closely manage and expedite incoming material to ensure on time delivery and outgoing movement of materials.
10. Promote positive supply chain partnerships
11. Work cross functionally to learn and proactively identify solutions
12. Complete continuous improvement projects/initiatives
13. Monitor and manage inventory levels and inventory dollars to ensure appropriate stock levels
14. Manage material rework and material returns within supply base
15. Perform other related duties as required

Education and/or Experience

1. Bachelor's degree in business administration or supply chain management required
2. Proven experience in purchasing, materials management, or supply chain role
3. 3 to 5 years of experience in purchasing role preferred
4. Experience in manufacturing industry preferred

Travel

This position requires minimal to no travel

Computer Skills

• Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office Suite - Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Demonstrated proficiency using EPICOR ERP or similar systems

Other Requirements

1. Knowledge of cost reduction analysis
2. MRP systems knowledge
3. VMI systems
4. Overall general knowledge of the manufacturing processes required in the manufacturing of steel structures and structural insulated panels
5. Requires a proficient use of computer skills
6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
7. Strong organizational skills
8. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
9. Knowledge of continuous improvement
