Core Responsibilities:



  • Create and maintain optimal logistics network design based on current and future Barnes Aerospace (BA) and supplier locations of raw material, contract manufactures, distribution points, and customers.
  • Set up, negotiate and maintain relationships with FP&A provider(s), broker(s), freight forwarder(s), and distribution warehouse(s) to ensure efficient and effective execution of the BA supply chain.
  • Manage international import strategy including tracking of duties/drawbacks, tariffs, temporary import bonds and demurrage fees.
  • Identify, vet, and select carriers, brokers, and external logistics partners; negotiate pricing including long term agreements; develop and maintain relationships.
  • Partner with internal and external resources to develop cost-to-serve, delivery and cost savings metrics and reduction activities, including routing guide (and return) decision tree for optimization with suppliers and customers.
  • Develop and evaluate metrics to assess logistics performance, identify opportunities, and implement enhancements that improve service to customers, optimize inventory investment, and achieve best total cost of ownership of the supply chain.
  • Ensure supply chain compliance with state, federal, and international regulations Develop and refine strategies including initiatives to drive cost out, improve service performance, address capacity / lead time concerns, and define responsibilities.
  • Manage, monitor, and measure all suppliers, cost and processes associated with air, ocean, parcel, LTL, and trailer load freight, as well as logistics support services.
  • Manage and build strong relationships with carriers, Barnes site teams, and manage and leverage 3rd party transportation providers.
  • Identify new suppliers (Including Apollo (LPP) leveraged purchasing programs) to evaluate / engage as potential future strategic partners.



Qualifications:



  • 10+ years of experience leading end-to-end logistics, supply chain experience, preferrable in aerospace manufacturing.
  • Ability to function effectively in a results-oriented, fast-paced growth environment.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions with changing priorities and competing demands.
  • Ability to effectively present information, data, recommendations to all levels. High attention to detail; analytical and strong critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills Understanding of end-to-end supply chain activities and related value drivers.
  • A deep understanding of logistics principles, supply chain management, and relevant technologies. Proficient in logistics software, inventory management systems, and other relevant tools.
  • Experience in negotiating with suppliers, vendors, and carriers to secure favorable pricing and contracts.
  • Experience with advanced data analysis and visualization tools. Creative thinker and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Impeccable integrity, strong communication and presentation skills; effectively able to interact with all levels within the organization.



Education Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain or related field required. MBA or advanced degree preferred. ASCM/professional certification preferred.
