"I can succeed as an Architect Lead at Capital Group." As a Lead Architect, you will serve as the technical domain expert for solution architectures across Capital Group's corporate capabilities-including Finance, HR, Legal & Compliance, Global Risk Management, Workplace Experience, Global Communications, and IT. You'll partner with business and IT leaders to define the target state architecture and technology strategy, drive innovation and transformation, and enable solutions aligned with Capital Group's long-term strategic vision. Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Architecture Leadership
    • Shapes target state architecture and technology strategy for Capital Group Corporate Technology portfolio
    • Maintain a deep understanding of the application portfolios, including their technical and functional health, and ensure alignment with business strategies and priorities.
    • Define current ("as-is") state and future ("to-be") state architectures.
    • Develop roadmaps to target states, including necessary interim state architectures to support the transition.
    • Stay current with technology and industry trends, incorporating relevant innovations into strategic planning.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with business and IT partners, ensuring clear communication and alignment on strategic technology direction and architectural vision.
  • Solution Delivery
    • Be the solution architect for high-impact programs and projects within the portfolios.
    • Develop solution architecture blueprints, POVs, and guide architectural decisions.
    • Conduct architecture reviews and provide hands-on guidance and support to development teams.
    • Ensure solution design and implementation conform to enterprise standards and strategic objectives.
  • Standards and Architecture Governance
    • Contribute and leverage enterprise technology standards, promote and follow the architecture governance processes.
    • Define and manage:
      • Reference architecture
      • Technology Standards
      • Reusable reference implementation models, templates, libraires.
    • Familiar with shared enterprise platforms and their associated architecture, including cloud platforms, enterprise data lake, and AI platforms

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
  • 10+ years of experience managing technology portfolios supporting corporate functions such as Finance, HR, Legal & Compliance, and IT operations.
  • 10+ years of enterprise architecture experience, with a proven track record of defining target state architectures and roadmaps for large, complex portfolios.
  • Demonstrated success leading digital transformation initiatives, including legacy modernization and large-scale vendor solution implementations.
  • Experience with enterprise platforms such as SAP, Workday, ServiceNow.
  • Experience with cloud and data platforms including AWS, Azure, Python, Airflow, Databricks, and APIs.
  • Deep expertise in modern application, data, and integration architectures.
  • Proven ability to evaluate emerging technologies and recommend implementation patterns and standards.
  • Hands-on experience with AI implementation, including Microsoft Copilot Studio, AI Gateway, and GenAI integrations with platforms like SAP, Workday, and ServiceNow.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking, with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels.
  • Excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to lead and inspire architects and engineers
  • Familiarity with corporate data domains such as Revenue, Expense, Employee, Client, and Investment Products is a plus.
  • Background in financial services or asset management is a plus.
Southern California Base Salary Range: $194,862-$311,779

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital's annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
