ABOUT THE JOB

The Product Manager-Groundwater Treatment Solutions is responsible for coordinating and directing incoming referrals from WaterSurplus' parent company, Hawkins. After receiving Hawkin's referrals, this position engages with the customer to determine water quality, groundwater treatment applications, coordinates and/or completes pilot studies, and refers customer to sales for further development for rental and/or new capital equipment sales. In addition, this position trains key Hawkins personnel at their satellite locations regarding groundwater treatment solutions and equipment and process solutions, and pilot study protocols and procedures.

The Product Manager - Groundwater Treatment Solutions is responsible for growing the groundwater treatment solutions market through technical advancement, innovative applications, market intelligence, and sales of rental and new equipment and products.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Defines and executes the product roadmap for groundwater treatment equipment and media technologies, ensuring alignment with long-term commercialization goals.
  • Evaluates and documents potentially feasible new treatment and applicable technologies to address groundwater contamination. Seeks out strategic partnerships for emerging groundwater treatment Evaluates the effectiveness of innovative treatment technologies and applies these findings to develop treatment alternatives for projects, including performing pilot studies.
  • Conducts market research, competitive benchmarking, and voice-of-customer analysis to identify opportunities and gaps.
  • Assists SVP of Business Development & Sales with product positioning, pricing strategy, and value propositions.
  • Leads R&D for new groundwater treatment products, processes, or optimization/modification of existing technologies.
  • Works with Apps Engineering to develop specifications for groundwater treatment technologies and products.
  • Works with marketing to develop product documentation, specifications, and marketing collateral, and supports sales team with training, tools, and technical collateral.
  • Ensure products meet industry standards and certifications (e.g., NSF, ANSI, ISO, AWWA, EPA compliance).
  • Collaborates with a cross-functional team organization (administration, engineering, operations, sales, marketing) to ensure designs meet performance, quality, and manufacturing goals for market served.
  • Coordinates and, when needed, carries out pilot studies for both WaterSurplus and Hawkins referral customers for groundwater treatment solutions, including but not limited to pilot study proposal development, water quality testing, pilot study setup and operations oversight, coordination with customers and/or their engineer of record, to final pilot study reporting.
  • Under the direction of the SVP of Business Development & Sales, coordinates with the sales and sales application teams to develop rental and/or new equipment sale costing and proposals during or after pilot study completion.
  • Serves as subject matter expert for groundwater treatment products in customer meetings, trade shows, and technical presentations.
  • Supports sales and marketing teams to further develop a go-to market strategy related to groundwater contaminants. This includes, but is not limited to, identifying customer end- users based upon current exceedances of groundwater contaminants through research and data mining of EPA and State water quality databases, targeting key engineering firms in the small to mid-market, assisting with the development of collateral material to send to engineering firms and customer end-users, conducting lunch and learns, and attending trade shows and conferences to expand company exposure and experience.
  • Provides overall coordination for all incoming referrals from Hawkins for groundwater treatment applications and opportunities, including direct customer engagement, communication feedback with Hawkins, coordination with WaterSurplus sales and sales application divisions with WaterSurplus for future rental and/or new equipment sales opportunities.
  • Serves as lead training provider for Hawkins and WaterSurplus to train internal employees how to conduct and operate pilot studies at customer sites. Works with Hawkins to determine additional pilot systems required to deploy throughout various Hawkin's satellite facilities throughout the country.
  • Conducts sales outreach to engineering firms and direct clients to pre-position the company by identifying and showcasing our groundwater treatment products and Works to get the company specified into projects going out for public or private solicitation.
  • Monitors product line profitability, market share, and performance metrics, including developing business case studies and ROI analysis for new product initiatives.
  • Collaborates with Purchasing to identify suppliers and manage costs and quality.


ABOUT YOU



  • Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental or chemical engineering or related discipline. Requires a minimum of ten years' experience in the water and wastewater industry and a minimum of five (5) years' experience with implementing groundwater treatment solutions.
  • Detailed understanding of US Federal and State groundwater contamination regulations. Demonstrated experience and understanding with designing, implementing, and optimizing treatment technologies for groundwater treatment. Deep understanding and knowledge of sizing appropriate equipment and medias for optimum groundwater contaminant remediation based upon detailed site investigation and intake water quality.
  • Direct experience with the implementation operation, maintenance, and monitoring of water treatment/remediation
  • Experience preparing detailed technical and environmental reports, specifically pilot studies.
  • Excellent writing, communication, strategic thinking, analytical and "people" skills. Up to date health and safety training (HAZWOPER 40-hour training and OSHA 30-hr.
  • Knowledge and ability to use a personal computer and knowledge of Microsoft Office software,
  • Knowledge of remote access, phone and order mobile communication software, WINMAN ERP, Windows Office software.
  • Knowledge of sales skills, customer service, customer relationships, product knowledge, knowledge of water treatment processes, computer skills, ability to read blueprints and technical manuals.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. May stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift frequently from 6 to 8 hours each day. May be required to carry or move equipment or parts more than 50 lbs. with the assistance of a lifting device. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

TRAVEL:

May be required to travel more than 50% of time per month.

Expected Compensation: $120,000-130,000/year. + 10% Bonus eligibility
