Salary:  $100,578.31 - $122,263.49 Annually

As a Healthcare Technology and Cybersecurity Specialist at the Department of Health Services (DHS), you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining the security of sensitive data and systems in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other applicable privacy and security regulations. Your primary duties will involve managing access controls, monitoring system activity, conducting vulnerability assessments, and responding to security incidents. You will work closely with various teams to ensure the confidentiality and integrity of personal health information (PHI) and personally identifiable information (PII). In addition, you will be responsible for:

 

• Developing and maintaining role-based access programs and auditing on-boarding and off-boarding processes

• Identifying and managing the locations of protected data within network drives and databases to ensure proper handling

• Configuring, managing, monitoring, and/or serving as the subject matter expert on software systems

• Monitoring system activity on county and vendor networks for security and compliance concerns

• Ensuring that Mobile Device Management (MDM) remains active on assigned devices and initiate deactivation

• Providing system security training to staff based on current risk analysis and security events

• Advising senior management on information/data security matters

• Auditing internal physical security systems including access controls and camera recording and placement
