GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE:


Dole plc is a publicly traded company headquartered in Ireland and listed on the New York Stock Exchange. Growing, sourcing, importing, packaging, distributing, and marketing over 300 lines of fresh fruits, vegetables and flowers, Dole plc operates out of 30 countries to bring fresh produce to the retail, wholesale, foodservice and processing sectors, primarily in Europe and North and South America.


Diversified Americas operates in the US, Canada, Mexico, Chile, Peru and Argentina and specializes in fresh produce, primarily cherries, grapes, berries, avocados among others. We are looking for a certified public accountant who will report to the Accounting Supervisor. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting and ensuring that the companies within the Division report their financial results accurately and on time.



MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION:



  • Assist with the timely and accurate monthly reporting of all financial information received from subsidiaries, joint ventures, and associates; ensuring that all financial reports required by executive management and Dole plc are accurate and in compliance with accounting standards.
  • Responsible for month end close and financial reporting of North America's holding companies.
  • Participate in annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting.
  • Work closely with companies in the Division to ensure accurate completion of quarterly and year-end reporting including reviewing financial reporting packages before submitting to group.
  • Assist with the completion of other group reporting requirements including internal audit updates, quarterly reporting, year-end reporting, other SEC filings requirements, etc.
  • Assist in other tasks for North American holding companies including treasury, expense management, legal reporting, financial statement and tax return preparation.
  • Perform other ad hoc job duties and projects, as needed.

Required Skills

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES:



  • 1 to 2 years post CPA qualification with a strong financial background with proven success in financial reporting.
  • Public accounting firm auditing public companies, (Big 4 preferred)
  • Public company financial reporting experience a plus
  • Hyperion Financial Management consolidation experience a plus
  • Extensive knowledge of US GAAP
  • Strong communication skills with proven ability to effectively communicate to people at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work in an ever-changing environment and handle multiple tasks and projects.
  • Ability to work independently, make appropriate decisions and communicate information to appropriate parties.
  • Self-starter with superior time management skills and the ability to function under frequent pressures and tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in financial systems, Word, Excel, Outlook, and other PC applications.
  • Experience working in a SOX environment a plus
  • Spanish a plus

WORK HOUR & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:



  • The normal hours of work will be 8:30 am to 5.30 pm, Monday through Friday, but due to the nature of the business, these hours and days may vary, and the role requires the employee to be flexible as the position demands.
  • Must have the ability to travel occasionally both domestic and international.

Required Experience

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION:



  • BS in Accounting or related field required, Masters preferred
  • CPA or Chartered Accountant required
