A Day In The Life:
This Accounting Manager position will primarily be responsible for the accounting of the sale and production of certain oils products including palm specialty oils, salad and vegetable oils, frying oils, and other packaged oil products. This position will have direct responsibility of overseeing the Oils & Proteins business. This position will be responsible for the reporting of results, inventory computation and valuation, reviewing general ledger entries, SOX control adherence, and researching/explaining commodity and industrial expense variances to the estimate. This would include working directly with plant operations and commercial managers. The successful candidate will be expected to have strong supervisory and communication skills, particularly in explaining complex ideas and concepts to Management and direct reports.

What You'll Be Doing:
o Both daily and longer-term career guidance for direct reports, including accountants and support staff
o Regular review of direct report work load; redistribution as necessary
o Serve as a single point of contact to the assigned facilities to support all aspects of the facilities financial statements, internal controls, and management reports.
o Maintain the general ledger and journal entries, including account analysis and balance sheet reconciliations.
o Maintain internal controls and ensure procedures and processes are followed
o Track plant expenses and allocations.
o Compute inventory book to physical; research variances; record adjustment if necessary
o Assist in internal and external audits.
o Be pro-active with leadership team in providing focused analysis to provide clarity related to financial results
o Support field locations with technical SAP and reporting issues
o Participate in any special project work and complete in an accurate and timely manner. Accept new opportunities as they develop to learn new skills
o Be an engaged business partner in supporting Income Statement analysis and explanations including monthly P&L results and "other price variances"
o Ensure balance sheet accuracy for accounts especially in the key accounts like inventory, GR/IR, payables, etc. Provide any required reconciliation and analysis needed
o Assist with quarterly Purchase Price Variance analysis, reporting major variances to upper management
o Complete any required government reporting in a timely and accurate manner
o Ensure that all costing is accurate and implemented in a timely manner
o Review 3rd party book to physical reconciliations and ensure that the global policy is being followed
o Intercompany balancing between business units
o Help oversee and explain BLC & Proteins financial results

Skills/Experience Requirements:
o Bachelor's degree in accounting; Masters in Accountancy or MBA desirable
o 4-6 years of experience in industry (preferably agribusiness) with strong understanding of commodity accounting and Generally Accepted
o Accounting Principles (GAAP) related to the commodity business
o SAP FICO core competency and/or SAP SD / GTM preferred
o Proficient in Microsoft Excel
o Controls orientation (SOX, COSO, etc)
o Able to explain complex ideas and concepts in an easy to understand manner
o Strong interpersonal skills
