Responsibilities
ECS's Environmental team is seeking a Business Development Specialist to support the pursuit of large-scale remediation projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Work directly with the Director of Environmental Services, Principals, engineering staff, and both current and prospective clients to implement business development strategies
- Attend industry associations, conferences, and trade shows to network with potential clients
- Maintain and update project sheets, resumes, and client databases
- Review project specifications and prepare preliminary cost estimates for remediation systems, treatment design, tank removal, and other ECS remediation services.
- Collaborate with project managers and technical staff to ensure estimates reflect accurate scope and approach.
- Support development of pricing strategies that align with project Monitor bid sites and market intelligence for remediation opportunities.
- Coordinate internally with service line leaders and project managers to qualify and prioritize pursuits.
- Assist in maintaining client and project databases for business development tracking.
Qualifications
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field.
- Have 3 or more years of experience in environmental consulting, remediation estimating, or proposal development.
- Familiarity with price estimating, proposal preparation, lead generation, and bid site search optimization.
- Strong technical writing and editing skills.
- Ability to interpret specifications and translate them into actionable proposal and cost documents.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills; proven ability to juggle multiple deadlines.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); estimating or proposal software a plus.
- Collaborative team player with strong communication skills across technical and business development staff.
