Purpose of Job

This position is responsible for providing healthcare patient services aligned with education, training, competency, experience and demonstrates knowledge related to scope of practice.

Job Functions


  • Assesses, diagnoses, provides and implements a treatment plan of care and follow up as needed
  • Performs physical examinations
  • Interprets and evaluates patient data
  • Orders, performs or reviews diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
  • Provides instructions regarding patient care, disease prevention, and health promotion
  • Creates and maintains appropriate patient records including transmitting or executing specific orders
  • Prescribes, administers and dispenses medications, controlled substances and medical devices as appropriate
  • Initiates evaluation and treatment procedures essential to providing an appropriate response to emergency situations
  • Assists in surgery (if applicable)
  • Works directly with Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to obtain DEA registration
  • Maintains patient confidentiality
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Ongoing collaboration with in-office teammates, as well as with virtual clinical teams
  • Supervising one or more NP or PA colleagues

Minimum Education/Work Experience


  • Board certified in Family Medicine or Medicine/Pediatrics, or Board Eligible with plans to obtain board certification within 1 year of your One Medical start date
  • MD, DO, or foreign equivalency training
  • BE/BC with ABMS or AOA
  • Active, non-restricted medical license in MN (or ability to obtain)

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities


  • Ability to effectively handle high-stress fast paced environment
  • Ability to meet and maintain the necessary background checks as aligned with position functions.
  • Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above.
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to respond appropriately to unpredictable situations and diverse patient populations
  • Ability to meet criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and hospital privileges, if applicable

License/Certifications


  • Ability to obtain and/or maintain MN DEA certification and National Provider Identifier (NPI)
  • CPR Certification
