THE ROLE:

We are looking for a dynamic, energetic Systems Design Engineer to join our growing team. As a key contributor to the success of AMD's products, you will be part of a leading team to drive and improve AMD's abilities to deliver the highest quality, industry-leading technologies to market. The Systems Design Engineering team fosters and encourages continuous technical innovation to showcase successes as well as facilitate continuous career development.

THE PERSON:

As a Systems Design Engineer, you will drive scalable and automated solutions. In this high visibility position, your systems engineering expertise will be necessary to define products, develop solutions, assess root causes, and produce solution resolutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Configure and maintain test hardware and test infrastructure across client products ranging from mobile, desktop and workstation.
  • Support ecosystem partner sampling for new product introductions
  • Support ecosystem open lab envioronment for onsite partner / vendor support
  • Debugging issues on sampling hardware and drive to resolution
  • Working with multiple teams and tracking test execution to make sure all features are validated and optimized on time
  • Working closely with supporting technical teams both internally and with AMD external partner base
  • Engaging in other software/hardware modeling frameworks
  • Leading collaborative approaches with multiple teams

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Programming/scripting skills (e.g., C/C++, Perl, Ruby, Python).
  • Debug techniques and methodologies
  • Experience with common lab equipment, including protocol/logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc.
  • Experience with board/platform-level debug, including delivery, sequencing, analysis, and optimization
  • Knowledge of system architecture, technical debug, and validation strategies

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • College diploma in computer engineering or equivalent work experience
