Education and Experience Requirement

Manufacturing or shop experience, 3-5 years' experience preferred.

Skills Required


  • Broad knowledge to perform routine and preventative maintenance and upkeep of equipment and instruments used.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to read, understand and explain job travelers
  • Possess basic math skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to operate a forklift


Minimum Job Requirements


  • Physical- capable of lifting 50 lbs. safely or with assistance. Capability of standing and bending over for long periods of time while performing manual labor with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Working Hours- fulltime, 45+ per week.
  • Willing to work Overtime as requested.
  • Personal Traits- Excellent communication skills with positive teamwork and safety attitude. Conscientious attention to detail and accuracy while able to multi-task and trouble shoot. Excellent leadership skills. Ability to assess operational requirements and to plan and organize work flow patterns and schedules.
  • Display good leadership qualities. Be a role model for the department and set the standard of safety, quality, and productivity, for employees of different levels to follow.


Level of Responsibility

Responsible for assisting the Production Supervisor with fabrication, coatings, and welding processes. Authority to requisition department supplies. Production parts and products in accordance with the established safety, quality, and cost standards of the company. Assist in supervising and monitoring of department employees; including training, work allocation, and problem resolution. Authority to drive company forklift if trained. Responsible for producing quality workmanship, which meets or exceeds requirements.

Job Duties


  • Ensure all dept. employees work safely and all hazardous conditions are eliminated. Follow safety procedures.
  • Ensure the highest quality standards are met with all work done in the department.
  • Ensure output meets required deadlines while executing above.
  • Ensure ISO and AS quality system and safety procedures are followed within department.
  • Ensure cross departmental communication is accurate and effective.
  • Assist in supervising and monitoring of department employees; including training, work allocation and problem resolution.
  • Implement and maintain inventory control systems and procedures; oversee shipping and receiving of shop supplies and materials.
  • Ensure all applicable operating policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Accurately maintain MES system as instructed.
  • Administer CPR or First Aid as required when trained.
  • Lead department in absence of the Supervisor or Foreman.
  • Maintain neat and clean and safe work environment.
  • Arrive to work in a punctual manner and be willing to work overtime when needed.
  • Assist in monthly inventory process.
  • Other ad hoc duties as assigned.
