Position Summary:


The Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Director will provide strategic leadership in the execution and advancement of SkyWater's Enterprise Risk Management program. Reporting to the Chief Risk and Compliance Officer (CRCO), this position will serve as the primary liaison with the Risk Management Committee of the Board of Directors on ERM governance matters. The Director is responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing SkyWater's ERM framework and related processes across the organization. This role plays a critical part in shaping SkyWater's risk culture, integrating risk oversight into strategic decision-making, and maintaining proactive governance mechanisms aligned with SkyWater's strategic objectives and risk appetite.


Responsibilities:


Enterprise Risk Management (ERM):



  • Own and oversee SkyWater's enterprise risk register, ensuring alignment with enterprise objectives and executive priorities.
  • Lead quarterly risk assessments with the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), including survey coordination, trend analysis, and heat map development.
  • Partner with executive risk owners to drive risk mitigation strategies and evaluate the effectiveness of responses.
  • Prepare, present, and defend ERM reports and materials for the Risk Management Committee of the Board of Directors.
  • Facilitate the annual enterprise risk deep dive in connection with SkyWater's Form 10-K risk factor review.
  • Drive integration of ERM into the strategic planning and capital allocation processes.
  • Advance improvements in enterprise-wide risk mitigation strategies, including the coordination, documentation, and review of controls.
  • Oversee collaboration with control owners and compliance functions to assess and improve control maturity as part of risk management processes.
  • Promote control self-assessment practices and accountability across departments.
  • Engage and oversee external advisors and consultants on risk and control matters to ensure alignment with enterprise priorities and avoid duplication of efforts.
  • Lead management reviews of business activities (e.g., supplier management, third-party risk, training programs, operational process effectiveness) from an enterprise risk perspective to enhance visibility and drive process improvement.


Qualifications:



  • Strong understanding of enterprise risk management frameworks, methodologies, and governance practices.
  • Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional and executive-level teams.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated experience presenting to Boards and executive committees.
  • Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in risk management software, tools, and reporting practices.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and evolving risk trends.


This position also requires performing other duties as assigned. Percentages of time spent on job duties are estimates and may vary for each position.


Required Qualifications:


Education: Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.


Experience and Skills:



  • 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in enterprise risk management, compliance, audit, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated success in managing enterprise-wide risk initiatives and influencing senior executives.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • U.S. Citizen Required: This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.


Preferred Qualifications:


Education: Advanced degree (MBA, MS) preferred.


Experience and Skills:



  • Relevant certifications (CRM, CIA, CRMA, CPA, CCEP, or similar)
  • Prior experience with Board reporting and governance engagement


The annual salary range for this role is $153,440 - $230,160. Pay offered is based on many factors including, but not limited to, the job-related experience, skills, education, and credentials of each candidate.
