Minimum Job Requirements * Physical- capable of lifting 50 lbs. safely with or without assistance. Able to bend easily to shrink wrap and package goods, with or without reasonable accommodations. * Working Hours- fulltime (45+ hrs/week) employment * Personal Traits- Good communication and positive teamwork attitude. Conscientious attention to detail and accuracy. * Must have valid driver's license. * Display good leadership qualities. Be a role model for the department and set the standard of productivity, safety, and quality for employees of different levels to follow. Job Duties and Responsibilities Directly responsible for the shipping and receiving operations. Oversees the management of equipment, scheduling of workstations and workers, requisition of supplies and coordination administrative activities as required. Prepare and authorize bills of lading, commercial invoices, and routine shipping contracts and expeditor fees. Ability to hire and terminate employees with the approval of Plant Manager and VP of Operations and Business Development. Prepare performance evaluations with annual wage increase recommendations and continuous improvement goals. Counting goods to be shipped and agreeing to process sheet. Sign for goods received from UPS etc., ensure received goods are not damaged. Deliver product to customers in a professional manner. Authorized to drive some company trucks. Authority to drive company forklift if trained. * Ensure S/R team members work safely and all hazardous conditions are eliminated. * Supervise the shipping and receiving department and schedule day to day work. * Ensure department operations follow the Business Operations Management System. * Troubleshoot receiving, shipping and inventory issues as they arise. * Ensure the highest quality standards are met with all work done. * Ensure shipping paper work is completed timely and accurately. * Inspect quality of shipped goods and received goods and ensure goods are not damaged. * Ensure that departmental expenditures are within guidelines as directed by management. * Attend and contribute to production and management meetings. * Ensure that goods and boxes are inspected for damage, and quantities are accurate before signing for receipts delivered by carriers. * Ensure that receipts and finished goods inventory is entered into Epicor timely and accurately. * Ensure outbound freight is packed and adequately protected for transit. Ensure quantities are accurate and products match the shipping information. * Drive company trucks, if needed, to make deliveries to customers or perform other company business, following rules of the road and the Latitude driving policy. * Responsible for international shipping and all associated documentation. * Use forklift to move skids, load and unload trucks, shrink wrap if the department is shorthanded. * Maintain a clean and uncluttered environment in shipping area and company vehicles. * Ensure all applicable operating policies and procedures are adhered to. * Responsible for accuracy of department inventory quality and end of month inventory. * Ensure cross training is adequate to maintain scheduling flexibility and redundancy. * Be willing to work extra hours when needed. * Other ad hoc duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities * Experience running a shipping and receiving department * Good organization skills and ability to multi-task * Good math skills and experience working with Excel spread sheets. * Forklift driving experience preferred * Must have good driving record * Possess excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage and schedule people. * Ability to maintain high departmental cosmetic standards. * Excellent written and oral communication skills. Education and Experience * High school diploma or equivalent and 5-8 years of experience in shipping and receiving and 3-5 years of supervisory experience.
