Senior Consultant, Accounting Advisory

Forvis Mazars, LLP is seeking a Senior Consultant, Accounting Advisory reporting to its office in Tysons, Virginia.

Advise on large-scale accounting engagements and provide clients with support in understanding and implementing new or complex accounting standards, such as consolidation, acquisition accounting, fair value measurement, revenue recognition, and leasing. Provide transaction-related accounting and financial reporting support for transactions, such as mergers and acquisitions, spin-offs, and other complex transactions. Provide technical support to public companies on SEC regulatory and reporting matters or provide IPO readiness assistance. Identify and foster long-term relationships with new and existing target clients. Assist in developing firm thought-ware on technical accounting and financial reporting matters. Provide support to audit practice as needed. May telecommute from anywhere in the U.S., reporting to the company's office in Tysons, VA.

Position requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related financial field of study. Alternatively, employer will accept a Master's degree in Accounting or related financial field of study. Foreign degree equivalent accepted. The position requires three (3) years of public accounting firm experience as Assurance Associate or related accounting occupation with a Bachelor's degree, or one (1) year of public accounting firm experience as an Assurance Associate or related accounting occupation with a Master's degree. The position requires three (3) years of experience in each of the following with a Bachelor's degree, or one (1) year of experience in each of the following with a Master's degree: accounting principles, practices, and procedures on manual and automated systems and current knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
