MT Technology Group, a leading geospatial and information technology services and solutions provider, has an opening for a Senior GIS Analyst. The Senior GIS Analyst will be responsible for project support of maps and geographic information systems and data analysis. Essential functions and responsibilities
- Lead tasks that pertain to geographic data development, maintenance, analysis and custom geospatial applications.
- Assist project and task managers with the project lifecycle, including formulating and implementing project plans and managing task-based work; monitoring and communicating task progress and risks to the project manager; and supporting project close out.
- Work directly with customers to understand their business activities, workflows, needs and requirements
- Determine how GIS technology can help meet those requirements and formulates and implements cost-effective GIS-based solutions
- Perform complex geospatial analysis and presents results in a format that is clear and concise utilizing GIS
- Develop training programs, provide user training, and develop technical documentation
- Perform GIS data creation and maintenance including data entry and attribution
- Develops and implement quality assurance and quality control plans
- Create high quality cartographic products
- Reads and interprets maps, survey documents, engineering drawings, plans, and sketches
- Perform global positioning system (GPS) data collection; conducts research; and coordinates with field staff
- Provide input on the design of GIS-based software applications and certifies that applications meet requirements prior to deployment
- Present technical information to all levels of the organization, including customers, colleagues, and senior leadership
- Mentor junior staff and promotes efficient and effective ways to execute GIS tasks

Required Experience
- Bachelor's degree in geography, GIS, computer science, information technology, engineering, planning or related field
- 7+ years of experience in the application of GIS technology to solve clients' needs
- 2+ years of experience overseeing others in the delivery and execution of GIS solutions
- Significant experience utilizing Esri's latest suite of technology, including ArcGIS Desktop and SDE
- In-depth knowledge of GIS concepts and analytical techniques, including geospatial data creation, conversion, manipulation, and analysis
- Knowledge of geodatabase administration principles and demonstrated experience designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise geodatabases.
- Experience using GPS technologies (i.e. Trimble and Leica) and mobile data collection tools.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Access
Preferred Experience
- Master's degree in geography, computer science, information technology, engineering, or related field
- Geographic Information Systems Professional (GISP) certification
- Certified Associate Project Management (CAPM) certification
- Experience using AutoDesk or Microstation
- Experience implementing and working with enterprise GIS systems
- Experience working with Esri's ArcGIS Server and ArcGIS Online
- Ability to create and publish map services
Working Conditions Work is performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
