ReconCraft is seeking a skilled Electrical Designer Detailer to support the design and production of manned and unmanned maritime vessels. This role is responsible for developing detailed electrical system designs, drawings, and documentation to enable efficient and accurate vessel production. The Electrical Designer Detailer will work closely with the engineering and production teams to create schematics, interconnect diagrams, and fabrication drawings, as well as select components, generate bills of materials, and support testing and validation activities.

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):



  • Develop detailed electrical and control system designs for manned and unmanned maritime vessels.
  • Prepare one-line diagrams, schematics, interconnect diagrams, and functional design drawings for electrical panels, helm displays, and console systems.
  • Support component selection, bill of materials (BOM) development, and AC/DC power generation and distribution system design.
  • Create and maintain engineering and client documentation, including shop fabrication drawings, design submittals, presentations, reports, and test procedures.
  • Refine and update first-article and prototype designs to improve production efficiency.
  • Collaborate with project management and manufacturing teams to resolve design-related production challenges.
  • Review design documents for accuracy, compliance with specifications, and adherence to industry standards.
  • Contribute to proposals, design reviews, test and trial packages, and technical data packages.
  • Support the development and maintenance of processes and procedures for electrical and controls applications.


Essential Job Qualifications and Requirements:



  • Experience and Education:

    • 3+ years of direct marine electrical design and engineering experience, OR 5+ years in a related technical field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
    • Proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D modeling software (SolidWorks or Inventor required).
    • Strong understanding of AC and DC power generation and distribution system design.
    • Familiarity with USCG, ABYC, IEEE, ISO, and Classification Society rules for maritime electrical systems.




  • Physical Requirements

    • Ability to work effectively in both office (primary) and shop floor (secondary) environments.
    • Perform limited inspections and oversight of design integration, validation, troubleshooting, and testing on the shop floor.
    • May involve physical activities such as standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, crawling, bending, climbing, listening, and visual acuity.
