Position Summary
The position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of DegreeWorks, the degree auditing system at the University of Georgia. The responsibilities for the position include overseeing enhancements to DegreeWorks to campus users as well as performing analysis and coding on degree requirements and adding and/or updating requirements for all undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs to audits and templates in DegreeWorks. The employee also oversees a high-level of testing for DegreeWorks, including testing system upgrades, enhancements, program requirements, and degree audit functionality degree audits/enhancements. The employee is also responsible for creating and delivering training sessions on DegreeWorks for campus users to complete. The employee also provides guidance to campus users on any issues/problems campus users encounter with DegreeWorks, which involves the ability to effectively research and analyze problems with DegreeWorks as they occur, displaying a high-level of technical aptitude. The employee assists with Course Program of Study ( CPOS) testing and research as it relates to degree audit requirements. The employee works with a significant amount of independence and autonomy and will display a high-level of judgment and analytical skills with regards to performing actions in DegreeWorks.

Responsible for Degree Audit System Maintenance and Updates

  • With a significant and substantial degree of autonomy ensure that undergraduate, graduate, and professional degree programs are accurately coded (scribed) and updated with current information.
  • Update scribe based on performing independent research and analysis to align with requirements found in the UGA Bulletin.
  • Add and/or revise four-year plans for each undergraduate program each UGA Bulletin cycle.
  • Review new functionality in each release of DegreeWorks and incorporate to benefit users and correct reported concerns from campus.
  • Support and enhance the data integration between Banner and DegreeWorks.
  • Report issues to EITS that are encountered.
  • Report issues related to the system to the vendor and serve as liaison with vendor in order to resolve any issues that occur. Monitor technical job submissions to EITS.

Manage Support, Research, and Analysis to Campus Constituents

  • Provide guidance to campus users by researching and analyzing issues/problems that are submitted to the Registrar's Office related to DegreeWorks.
  • Troubleshoot configuration issues with the system.
  • Generate reports to identify anomalies in the data.
  • Identify potential operational gaps and offer solutions.
  • Analyze and process Banner information related to certain requirements into DegreeWorks.

Responsible for Testing and Validation of All Undergraduate, Graduate, and Professional Programs

  • Oversee plans for testing and implementing scheduled upgrades to the system.
  • Create test plans and test cases for upgrades.
  • Validate degree audits as part of any upgrade.
  • Review release notes for latest version(s) of DegreeWorks as provided by vendor.
  • Convey information to relevant parties of any impact upgrades will create for the current environment and offer suggestions on possible improvements to the current environment by any new release.

Responsible for Trainings and Communications

  • Create DegreeWorks trainings for campus constituents and provide on a quarterly basis.
  • Maintain online resources for campus constituents, including DegreeWorks web tutorials, FAQs, and Help text.
  • Compose and send communications to campus users regarding information about updates, outages, etc. related to DegreeWorks.
  • Maintain documentation of DegreeWorks business processes.
