DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will conduct thorough research of courthouse records to identify the nature of property ownership, easements, and any recorded covenants, while also interpreting deed descriptions accurately. You will assess the impacted property firsthand and engage with the owner to gather essential information that will ensure the appraisal accurately reflects all relevant aspects, including fair market value, depreciation, existing liens, judgments against the property, as well as rights related to gas and minerals, and any damages incurred. Your role will involve determining the most suitable methodologies to establish the values of the affected properties.
Additionally, you will compile a comprehensive inventory of properties, documenting all enhancements made, including those executed by the owner since the initial acquisition. You will also seek further information to support and validate completed appraisal reports, conduct supplemental housing evaluations, and update previous appraisals to align with the date of the Declaration of Taking before the Board of View Hearing or Court Trial. Furthermore, you will participate in Board of View Hearings or Court Trials, providing testimony regarding the appraisal and the assessment of damages. Lastly, you will supply claim settlement agents with the necessary details concerning the property and associated damages to facilitate the resolution of issues related to final appraisals or supplemental payments. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Bridgeville. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. - Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $59,345.00 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS Special Requirements:
- This position requires the possession of an active Pennsylvania Certified General Real Estate Appraiser certification.
- This position requires possession of an active driver's license which is not under suspension.
