This is for a future opening.



STGi is currently seeking a Plant Manager to provide services at the Oregon Veterans Home in The Dalles, OR.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:



  • Assist in the development of a facility-based and community-based hazards vulnerability assessment as part of emergency preparedness planning.





  • Investigate accidents or injuries and prepare reports of findings; review findings with the Administrator and the Risk Manager.





  • Participate in the annual facility assessment to ensure the available resources meet the needs of the resident population.





  • Ensure the safe and proper functioning of the environment and equipment that are necessary to care for the resident population in the facility.





  • Evaluate and document facility maintenance and equipment needs.





  • Provide facility access to state/federal inspectors and contractors as directed.





  • Evaluate work areas, examine tools and equipment and provide safety training to team members to prevent, detect and correct unsafe conditions or violations of procedures and regulations.





  • Inspect, test and measure completed work to verify compliance with state/federal requirements and/or facility standards.





  • Provide daily supervision to the maintenance department; ensure the efficient and effective operational maintenance of the buildings and grounds through planning, scheduling and supervision of tasks.



Required Skills

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:



  • Must have, as a minimum, three (3) year(s) experience in a supervisory capacity in a maintenance/plant related position.





  • Must be knowledgeable of boilers, compressors, generators, etc., as well as various mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.





  • Must have the ability to read and interpret blueprints.





  • Must be knowledgeable in building codes and safety regulations.



Required Experience

REQUIRED EDUCATION:




  • Must have an engineering, construction or business-related bachelor's degree. Experience in an institutional or correctional setting is preferred.




WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:




  • Works in office areas as well as throughout the facility and its premises.





  • Is subject to frequent interruptions.






  • Is involved with residents, family members, personnel, and visitors under all conditions/circumstances.






  • Works beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary. On call 24 hours a day, 7 days per week.
