The Engineering Director leads the Engineering Team, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to develop efficient, cost-effective processes that ensure high-quality part production. Oversees engineering managers and supervisors supporting teams of 5-10 engineers. Responsibilities include hiring, training, setting performance metrics, and resolving issues in alignment with company policies and legal standards.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Provides strategic leadership to engineering teams, driving collaboration with manufacturing to establish robust, high-quality, and easily monitored processes.
  • Champions technical excellence through hands-on guidance and training, fostering a creative and innovative work environment.
  • Evaluates new ideas using sound engineering principles and communicates progress on new jobs and programs across the broader organization.
  • Partners with Production Control and Tooling Management to align scheduling, disposition, and budgeting of new initiatives.
  • Leads repair development and engineering improvements, including resolution of production issues such as DER repairs.
  • Serves as a key stakeholder in complex, high-impact programs, demonstrating ownership of specific processes and products to ensure success.
  • Develops advanced technology roadmaps to meet future product needs, including capital planning and strategic direction.
  • Acts as a technical expert across a diverse supply chain, solving critical business challenges and improving yield, rework, and product quality through structured problem-solving.
  • Leads cross-functional efforts to resolve complex issues.


Minimum Qualifications and Experience:



  • B.S. in related discipline or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of experience in aviation repair, with strong background in engineering, manufacturing, and sourcing
  • Capability to maintain, or create, and supervise a group of engineers and technicians that are able to perform in a team environment while personal accountability and individual growth is encouraged.
  • Progressive experience including project management responsibility requiring the direction of the efforts of several engineers.
  • Demonstrated capability to work with customers and or other internal organizations developing part/process/activities in a concurrent team approach environment while holding responsibility for the outcome of the project.
  • Utilize data analysis and statistical process control to monitor trends and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
