We are seeking an experienced Controller to lead the accounting operations and partner with the CFO in driving financial excellence across the organization. This individual will oversee all aspects of accounting, financial reporting, audits, and compliance while managing and developing a high-performing accounting team. The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical accounting background, proven leadership experience, and a hands-on approach to ensuring accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead and manage the accounting team, overseeing daily accounting operations and monthly close processes.

* Prepare monthly financial statements, variance analyses, cash projections, and investment reports.

* Ensure timely preparation of internal and external financial reports.

* Support payroll, sales, and income tax filings, ensuring compliance with all deadlines.

* Maintain and strengthen internal controls for revenue, expenditures, and budgeting.

* Collaborate with the CFO to develop policies related to financial management, cash flow, accounts payable, payroll, and reporting.

* Prepare board and committee materials in partnership with the CFO.

* Oversee annual audits, including financial statement, 401k plan, and insurance audits.

* Contribute to the development of annual operating and capital budgets.

* Evaluate and assist with implementing accounting-related software solutions.

* Provide coaching, training, and professional development for accounting staff while fostering a positive work environment.

* Lead the performance management process for the team.

* Stay current on industry trends, tax regulations, and innovations in accounting and finance.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA strongly preferred).

* Minimum 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, including at least 5 years managing a team.

* Strong knowledge of internal controls and financial best practices.

* Hands-on experience with payroll, sales/use, and income tax.

* Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.

* Proficiency with accounting systems, financial reporting tools, and technology.

* Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

* Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through.

* Ability to partner effectively across diverse groups and align financial operations with business needs.
