This position is on site at our Cullowhee campus.
Western Carolina University invites applications for the position of Temporary Part time Instructional Clinical Practicum - Lab Preceptor. Responsibilities include instruction and supervision of Western Carolina University paramedic interns in the undergraduate Emergency Medical Care Program. Successful applicant will supervise students completing clinical rotations at designated clinical affiliate sites.
The clinical load will vary weekly according to required clinical components of the Program at that time - averaging approximately 8-10 hours a week over the semester.
This is a temporary time limited salaried position which does not receive benefits. (May be eligible for Affordable Care Act health insurance) |
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position |
Thorough familiarity with equipment/diagnostic techniques, data gathering, record keeping and clinical management protocols.
Ability to effectively interact with clientele with diverse medical issues.
Ability to effectively impart knowledge to undergraduate student population through clinic management instruction and supervision |
Minimum Qualifications |
AHA
BLS and
ACLS certifications, eligibility for North Carolina licensure/certification as a paramedic or National Registry Paramedic certification, physician, physician's assistant, nurse practitioner, or registered nurse.
Clinical experience required. |
Preferred Qualifications |
