GENERAL FUNCTION


The Process Engineer plans/conducts work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures and criteria. Devises new approaches to problems while working closely on processes to qualify/sustain tools, troubleshoots issues and enhances operations.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Ensures the injection molding process works at the optimum level, to the right rate and quality of output, in order to meet volume needs.
  • Ensures all aspects of an operation/process meets specified health & safety regulations.
  • Creates Block Flow Diagrams (BFD) and Process Flow Diagrams (PFD).
  • Maintains knowledge on Imms controllers usage (Arburg,Engel).
  • Uses lean principles to improve/optimize/continuously improve manufacturing/business processes.
  • Works with the team to monitor the plastic injection molding processes.
  • Takes accountability to contribute towards the successful completion of engineering tasks and preparation of engineering deliverables.
  • Performs cross-functional teamwork to qualify new tools under a compressed schedule.
  • Interfaces with internal engineering disciplines (mechanical, automation, maintenance, tooling etc.) to ensure coordinated design and complete engineering deliverables.
  • Creates conceptual designs and molding process development reports.
  • Manages multiple small scale projects in a dynamic fast paced environment.
  • Optimizes the Injection Molding Process.
  • Generates process sheets and process books to document the molding process.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS



  • B.S. in Engineering
  • 2+ years of related work experience
  • Knowledge of engineering techniques
  • Good communication skills and ability to interface with related departments
  • Ability to work on broad range of assignments with minimum supervision
  • Familiarity with LEAN Manufacturing
  • Ability to implement processes that have delivered MEASURABLE benefits on Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery
  • Ability to work with teams undertaking Continuous Improvement activities
  • Knowledge of systems processes that ensure decisions are data driven

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS



  • B.S. in Plastics Engineering
  • Bilingual - English plus Spanish
  • Project Management/Lean Manufacturing Certification
  • Familiarity with Plastic Molding SW CAE (Moldflow,Sigmasoft,ect) and Minitab Software to perform/analyze Design of Experiments

Pay Range: 97,909.08-127,604.77

Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements. In addition, you may also be offered a competitive bonus and/or commission plan, which complements a first-class total rewards package. Benefits may include health care, retirement savings, paid time off/vacation, and various employee discounts.
