We are looking for a Field Clerk-Warehouse to join our team!

Important Note: This role is considered safety sensitive, and as such, you may be required to undergo various background screenings. This may include but is not limited to a driving record abstract, criminal check, a company sponsored medical and drug testing.

What You Will Do:

In this position, you will be responsible for primarily clerical duties in the operations of field offices where the number of clerical personnel is limited and includes some physical duties in designated areas as assigned.

Typical duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Perform clerical duties for the assigned department which may include: timekeeping, palletizing and loading meters, requisitioning material, completing purchase order forms and requests for checks (SAP application use), filing reports and documents for local field office operations, responding to e-mail requests and completion of forms and or required documents.

  • Maintain departmental records and inventories by updating any changes in the appropriate systems.

  • Input data into computer applications to update programs, generate reports and provide computer generated service orders.

  • Maintain effective communications with field personnel and other personnel from various local offices in order to complete duties.

  • May operate radio equipment to facilitate communications including answering phones/dispatching when microwave system is down.

  • Receive freight/stock shipments and sign for receipt. Review packing slips to be sure they match the shipment.

  • Check material in/out of stockroom/warehouse per authorized written requests.

  • Maintains inventories.

  • Sort and distribute incoming field office mail. Prepare outgoing mail for interoffice or external delivery.

  • Prepare routine correspondence and forms for mail delivery or forward to appropriate personnel for local field office operations.

  • May operate material handling equipment, i.e., forklift, appliance dollies, portable pallet movers, etc.

  • May be required to do minor building, yard and vehicle maintenance in areas currently performing these functions.

  • Perform other related clerical functions as assigned (i.e., forward reports to appropriate personnel, deliver packages to UPS or Purolator services for delivery, answer telephone and support field office operations, distribute forms and or notices to employees etc.).

  • May perform duties within the Field Clerk Customer Service and/or Operations classification for which they are qualified as a backup.

Who You Are:

Minimum Requirements (Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications):

  • General clerical skills (i.e., filing, copying, answering telephone, etc.).

  • Basic keyboard knowledge and skills required.

  • Ability to perform physical duties as required such as lifting and moving up to 100 lbs without assistance

  • Knowledge of basic math is required.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge of personal computers and software (Microsoft, etc.) desirable.

  • A general knowledge of company policies, procedures and operations is desirable.

  • Previous customer contact experiences helpful.

  • Certified Forklift Operator is preferred

  • SAP experience is preferred

Balancing, bending and stooping, climbing, crawling, carrying (up to 100 pounds), grasping, kneeling, lifting (objects up to 100 pounds), pulling hand over hand, pushing, reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, walking, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement, grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 100 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement.

Mental Requirements (Both field & office) include but are not limited to:

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
