Tool Crib Attendant What this job involves:

At JLL, we are seeking a detail-oriented Toll Crib Attendant to support our maintenance and operations teams by efficiently managing tools, equipment, and supplies for our facility. In this essential role, you will be responsible for maintaining inventory control, issuing and receiving tools, processing requisitions, and ensuring proper tool maintenance. What your day-to-day will look like:
  • Issue and receive tools, equipment, and supplies to maintenance personnel using established check-out procedures
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and tool databases to track location and condition of all assets
  • Process requisitions for replacement parts, new tools, and supplies according to company procedures
  • Inspect returned tools for damage, missing parts, or required maintenance
  • Perform basic maintenance on tools including cleaning, lubricating, and minor repairs
  • Organize tool crib storage areas to maximize efficiency and accessibility
  • Maintain proper stock levels of frequently used items and consumable supplies
  • Coordinate with supervisors and purchasing department regarding inventory needs
  • Monitor calibration schedules for precision instruments and arrange for recalibration when needed
  • Maintain security of the tool crib area and implement loss prevention measures
  • Generate reports on tool usage, inventory status, and equipment maintenance
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols for proper handling and storage of tools and equipment
Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse, or related field
  • Basic computer skills including inventory management systems and Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Basic knowledge of common tools and equipment used in maintenance operations
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation
  • Ability to follow established procedures and maintain accurate records
  • Basic math skills for inventory counting and reconciliation
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a tool room or tool crib environment
  • Knowledge of industrial or maintenance tools and equipment
  • Experience with computerized inventory management systems
  • Background in facilities maintenance or related technical field
  • Understanding of preventative maintenance practices for tools and equipment
  • Experience with barcode scanning systems or RFID technology for inventory tracking
  • Familiarity with safety regulations related to tool storage and handling
  • Problem-solving skills and proactive approach to inventory management
