Purpose of the Position:
The Vice President of Sales & Marketing is a highly strategic position responsible for overseeing the sales and marketing initiatives for all Company locations. This position will manage key customers, negotiations with vendors, and maintain critical vendor relationships. They will oversee the sales team to ensure they are meeting expectations in achieving the overall Company revenue and profit goals. Primarily focused in the upper Midwest, this is an executive position and a member of the Leadership Team with some travel required. Responsible for maintaining a positive and energetic work environment, setting Companywide goals and working in accordance with the company core values and culture.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding market share and leading the sales organization
* Lead, manage and hold employees accountable building the capabilities of a driven and diverse team
* Involved in strategic planning, budgeting and forecasting for company growth initiatives
* Establish and consistently maintain the EOS/Traction operations through L-10 meetings
* Ensure compliance with established policies, procedures, and objectives of the Company
* Identify new business opportunities, including market expansion, strategic partnerships, and product diversification
* Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to adjust sales strategies accordingly
* Provide a strong day-to-day leadership presence
* Communicate and cultivate the Core Values of OSC internally and externally
Sales Department:



  • Achieve Sales and Gross Profit goals in all locations with an emphasis on:


    • New and existing customer growth

    • Cylinder and bulk gases o Develop and execute strategic sales plan and budget, measuring for areas of improvement



  • Maintain key customer and vendor relations through frequent communications and attendance at national conferences and vendor seminars

  • Oversee pricing strategies and contract negotiations to maximize profitability

  • With the assistance of sales management, coordinate sales training, joint sales meetings and special sales events

  • Periodically make calls with sales representatives, mentoring them through OSC's sales process



Marketing Department:



  • Develop and execute marketing strategy aligned with company goals and industry trends, while staying abreast with technology

  • Ensure internal and external communications positively represent the company's brand o Work closely with Operations in maintaining consistent retail presence at all Company locations

  • Manage Company web presence (Company website, social media and e-commerce) according to business principles and strategic objectives

  • Monitor customer experience and suggest areas of improvement



Other Responsibilities:
* Perform a variety of special projects as assigned by supervisor
Education, Experience and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing or other related field. 10+ years of outside sales experience, with 5+ years of previous sales management experience required. Must possess a proven track record of successfully leading sales teams and driving revenue growth. Valid state driver's license required. Comprehensive knowledge of industrial and specialty gases. Previous industry experience desired. Understands the marketplace, including existing and potential key customers. Strong problem solving skills, above average reasoning and math skills, and able to work under tight deadlines. Conflict management experience with employees and customers is desired. Intermediate to proficient computer skills including the Microsoft Office 365. Demonstrates professionalism, superior people skills, strong oral and written communication skills and extensive customer service experience. Must be organized, be able to perform effectively under stress and good time management skills.
Equipment Used:
Company provided equipment such as vehicles, telephones, and computer/laptop. Office equipment and computer programs such as Microsoft Office 365, CRM systems, ERP Systems, etc. Safety gear such as safety glasses and safety shoes, when required.
Job Specifications/Requirements:
Ability to sit for long periods of time, 6 - 7 hours per day. Ability to sit in a vehicle for an extended period of time operating hand/arm controls. Occasional lifting of 45lbs is required, may at times lift up to 75lbs. At times push/pull of 25lbs up to 75lbs. Reach at, above and below should level occasionally. Continuous fine manipulation, including grasping and handling. Frequently twist head/neck, talk and hear. Occasional walking, twisting, bending. Travel 45% of the day to various company locations, customer sites, training and seminars. Ability to work in moderately warm or cold conditions where high noise levels are possible.
