Technician, Therapy Support

Assists Rehab (PT/OT/SLP/TR) and Cardiopulmonary Rehab Services (CR/PR/RT) in patient care as requested by therapists to allow therapists to provide quality care in the most efficient manner. The therapy support tech supports these teams in stocking/ordering of equipment, cleaning of equipment, and assisting with maintaining filing system along with many other tasks delineated by daily/weekly/monthly checklists.

Accountabilities/Duties:

• Demonstrates knowledge of and behaviors consistent with the Hospital Code of Business Ethics and Corporate Compliance policies and procedures on a daily basis.
• Embrace and demonstrate the Mission, Vision, Values, and Dimensions.
• Assist with transfers and transports of patients.
• Assist with setting up CPM machines in inpatient rooms.
• Set up patients for treatment.
• Assist with applications of heat, cold and other modalities.
• Clean tables, change and stock linen between patient treatments.
• Assist with compliance relating to chart organization.
• Performs duties relating to checking billing, tracking physician orders, maintaining inventory of supplies and ordering of equipment.
• Orient and schedule volunteers.
• Complete compliance audits, discharge charts, and consignment program.
• Assist in completion of safety assessments for all areas in collaboration with rehab manager.
• Support RT OP procedures to assure smooth transition between patients.
• Completion of tasks on Therapy Support Tech checklist designated to be done weekly, bimonthly or monthly.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of High School Diploma.
• BLS certification required within 3 months of hire/start date.

Preferred Qualifications:

• One year of previous experience in hospital rehabilitation based operation.
• Previous experience as hospital based Health Unit Coordinator and/or Certified Nursing Assistant
