Director of Operations

Job Description

Our growing company requires an experienced, collaborative and multi-disciplined Director of Operations accountable for an array of responsibilities which contributes to our organization consistently achieving exceptional customer satisfaction evaluations and growth across our portfolio. The Director of Ops provides daily oversight of our Program and Project Managers, serves as their mentor, and champions their professional development. The Director of Operations ensures that Evoke fulfills its contract requirements and may periodically become involved in program performance, if required. Internally, the Director of Operations collaborates with Evoke's business operations and growth teams, suggesting enhancements to Evoke's standardized infrastructure, developing differentiated solutions, developing proposals, and supporting reviews and orals/technical demonstrations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide managerial and hands-on consultative support to Project Managers addressing client objectives and internal requirements (e.g. deliverable peer reviews, solutions to address challenges and emerging requirements, internal reporting, interview support, etc.) which helps minimize risk while ensuring successful project delivery
  • Facilitate consistent Quarterly In-Process Review initiatives throughout the portfolio; supports Program and Project Managers in developing Contract Performance Assessment Report responses
  • Support continuous improvement and team development initiatives across Service Delivery
  • Apply technical discipline background in infusing current projects with new differentiators and develop solutions for RFP responses
  • Review select RFPs, participate in proposal strategy, serve as Book Boss and/or author, creation of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and Basis of Estimate (BOE) development, support pricing, participate in color team reviews, and, as required, support orals/technical challenges

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree; a STEM discipline preferred or business or related field
  • 15+ years' experience in federal government contracting with a minimum of 7 years in Project/Portfolio Management
  • Working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and experience across multiple contract types; experience with Federal Supply Schedules, Governmentwide Acquisition Contracts preferred
  • Experience overseeing a portfolio comprised of no less than $40M in annual revenue
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Agile, Scrum Master, SAFe, and/or ITIL (or similar) certifications preferred
  • Experience identifying, developing and implementing technical solutions for federal clients; Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence or Robotic Process Automation experience preferred
  • Absolute commitment to customer service
  • Initiative to work independently as well as a member of a team with minimal direction
  • Demonstrated strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple discrete projects with varying timeframes
  • Biased for action to achieve deadlines across competing priorities
  • Strong planning, collaboration and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to communicate (writing, verbal and in presentation) concisely, accurately and completely
  • Business acumen related to internal budgets, program cost baselines and profitability
  • Experience successfully contributing to written proposals
  • Maturity to interface across all internal levels of the organization and with clients, as necessary
  • Proven ability to resolve conflict among team members and with clients
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite
