The Air Ops Tech Advisor position within FedEx project manages the planning and governance of FedEx Air operations technology initiatives. This role manages multiple large-scale projects from concept to implementation. They develop and manage plans necessary for completing projects including scope, cost, schedule, risk identification and mitigation, and stakeholder communication plans.

Essential Functions

  • Plan, analyze, design and develop systems requirements and justification for new technology with business units.
  • Develop improved or new processes and associate them to the customers technology business case.
  • Attend aircraft/ systems technical meetings to assess impact to air ops technology strategy, lead decision support analysis.
  • Develop analyses and recommendations as required by air ops officers and other customers on technology projects.
  • Provide mentoring for the development of those in less senior positions.
  • Mentor junior staff.
  • Project managing the planning and implementation of lifecycle activities for Air operations systems.
  • Provide expertise on current and future technologies, project manage the elicitation and documentation of software requirements for multiple business solutions, and project manage business analysis, quality assurance, and implementation support activities.
  • Benchmarking and designing business analysis, quality assurance, and implementation support tasks, ensuring adherence to standards and processes, and overseeing multiple application and technical support initiatives.
  • Providing support plans to business areas to secure funding and delivering service level performance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Education

Bachelors degree/equivalent in engineering, information systems, computer science, or BS or BBA with a concentration in Finance, Math, Accounting, Statistics or other quantitative discipline.

Minimum Experience

Six (6) years experience in a min of four (4) of the following areas: application/technical support, business area expertise/continuity planning/process design, data standards/design/development, decision support and application planning/design/development, network/telecom planning, funding/analysis/sourcing, software test automation/ use case development/quality assurance, systems business analysis, systems demand management, systems project management, systems training design/ delivery.

Ability to collaborate with business areas, systems users and technical developers.

Expertise in business intelligence processes and data-driven solutions.

Job Conditions

Some travel required.

Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge/experice in HTML, JavaScript, SGML/XML, GitHub, MS Project or SAFe Agile. Experience in Systems or Internet Technology, QDM/Lean Experience/Certification.

Pay Transparency: This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job and other job-related factors permitted by law. An employee may be eligible for additional pay, premiums, or bonus potential. The Company offers eligible employees health, vision and dental insurance, retirement, and tuition reimbursement.

Pay: $6511.62 - $8627.89
