Our Moog Military Aircraft Group is looking for a Site Quality Manager to be responsible for planning, coordination, and execution of Alaska on-site operations. This role ensures continuous production of quality commercial avionics products consistent with established FAA standards by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.

Day- to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating onsite FAA activities to maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Performing duties as an FAA Designee for the issuance of FAA form 8130-3s for articles produced.
  • Monitoring product rejections for trend analysis and directing areas of improvement as needed.
  • Monitoring effectiveness of production and quality inspection standards and leading improvement efforts.
  • Performing inspection activities for appropriate product steps throughout the final production cycle.
  • Interpreting specifications, blueprints and change orders assisting in inspection of TSOA articles.
  • Designing and monitoring training needed for personnel working in quality inspection.
  • Reviewing Manufacturing and Engineering work instructions/procedures for appropriate quality points.
  • Quality Audits for the site Quality and Manufacturing operations.
  • Performing self-verification audits as required in accordance with Title CFR *21.137 (I).
  • Performing reviews of company documents and approval as required (QMSM, SOP, ECOs)
  • Conducting article conformity completion and first article inspections on first production runs.
  • Assisting in addressing quality issues with customers and suppliers.
  • Performing supplier quality audits for approved suppliers as needed.
  • Responding to audit correction action requests and leading improvement efforts.
  • Assisting the Quality Engineer as required to address any customer reported issues.
  • Creating and implementing inspection criteria and site quality procedures.
  • Assisting in the preparation for AS9100 Management Review meetings.
  • Performing AS9100 Internal Audits as required and acting as site lead auditor.

Here's what you'll bring with you...

  • Bachelor's Degree (BS) in Engineering or a related technical discipline; two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience working in an FAA regulated environment.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with people at a cross-functional level. Ability to effectively communicate in oral and written form to present information and respond to questions from managers, suppliers, and customers.
  • Ability to respond to common internal quality complaints. Interpret drawings, engineering specifications, engineering change orders and documents such as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and communicate conclusions to other departments. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Proficient skill level with Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Quality System Auditing (AS9100) training desired.
  • Must be a U.S citizen.

Salary Range Transparency:

Anchorage, AK $90,000.00-$130,000.00 Annually

Salary Range Disclaimer

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
