At CONMED, a Finishing Technician I is primarily responsible for producing parts that meet cosmetic requirements and standards. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate Bead Blast Operations.
- Operate centrifugal finishing equipment.
- Operate Vibratory finishing equipment.
- Operate buffing equipment.
- Plug and mask parts per print for all mechanical and chemical finishing operations.
- Perform weighing and measuring operations to maintain bath concentrations as instructed and basic maintenance on all equipment.
- Perform Equipment PM's
- Ability to produce parts with Zero defects
- Ability to read drawings and follow work instructions and procedures
- Minimum of one year of work experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment, specifically in finishing and/or coating processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to function in a high-performance work team environment.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Willingness to work with materials/chemicals used in the manufacturing process.
- Ability to learn and become proficient in:
- Metals finishing/plating
- Reading instructions, schematics, and blueprints
- Operating various types of production equipment
- Using gauges and other measurement tools
- Commitment to follow all metals finishing and plating procedures.
- Ability to operate equipment safely without causing injury or damage.
- Willingness and ability to:
- Work scheduled overtime
- Rotate through various manufacturing processes in a team environment
- Reliable and predictable availability to perform duties at the assigned work site and start time.
- Sustain and maintain 5S standards and support continuous improvement activities.
- Operate wastewater handling equipment according to instructions.
- Operate chemical finishing operations such as:
- Ability to work at established production rates.
- Good hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Move about, bend, stoop, use hands, and lift up to 25 pounds unassisted
- Work at a bench height of 37.5" to 42"
- Stand for up to eight hours per day
- Visual acuity of at least 20/40 in each eye (corrected or uncorrected) and ability to distinguish colors.
