Job Summary
The Manager Investigations & Analytics conducts and manages internal fraud investigations and other matters that violate Company policy. The position will also assist with anti-fraud initiatives, including developing training material, giving presentations, and conducting fraud risk assessments. Secondarily, the position will lead the department's fraud monitoring and analytics program, which includes the design, development, implementation, and reporting for proactive anti-fraud analytics projects.

Primary Activities and Responsibilities

  • Conduct and manage the planning and execution of internal fraud investigations, which includes conducting interviews, reviewing documents, analyzing financial and other data, preparing reports, and documenting issues, findings and recommendations
  • Participate in the training and development of junior staff through on-the-job training opportunities, job shadowing during investigations, and other tasks
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of investigation activities and tracking of data relating to investigations, including maintaining an investigations database and preparing reports and presentations summarizing investigation metrics and fraud trends
  • Assist with the development and delivery of anti-fraud training material, including company-wide ethics training, training for new employees, and others as requested
  • Participate in fraud risk assessments, including the facilitation of meetings with business partners, development and review of fraud risk surveys, and assessment and prioritization of fraud risks
  • Utilizing data analytics, develop proactive anti-fraud projects designed to mitigate fraud risks identified through fraud risk assessments, investigations, and other sources
  • Oversee the execution and review of fraud monitoring reports and develop the framework for periodic reporting of findings
  • Miscellaneous activities and responsibilities as assigned by Director

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree/4-year Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Criminal Justice, IT, or related major field of study
  • 3 or more years of experience related to investigations, anti-fraud, forensic accounting, law enforcement, internal audit, data analytics, operations research, business intelligence, computer science, or other related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduate Degree
  • 5 or more years of experience related to investigations, anti-fraud, forensic accounting, law enforcement, internal audit, data analytics, operations research, business intelligence, computer science, or other related field
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and/or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE)
  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and/or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)
  • Technical proficiency in SQL, Python, ACL Analytics, Tableau, and/or Alteryx

Knowledge and Skills

  • Ability to collect and analyze complex data, evaluate information and systems, effectively conduct interviews, and draw logical conclusions
  • Excellent analytical, written/verbal communication, organizational, interpersonal, and relationship building skills
  • Ability to review and evaluate the investigative actions and work product of investigators, oversee the collection and analysis of documentary and other evidence, and assist investigators in the preparation of reports and investigative action plans
  • Ability to manage multiple investigations and projects with varying timeframes and deadlines while maintaining composure under stressful situations
  • Detail oriented and well organized with ability to be flexible and work independently as well as member of a team
  • Skill in personal planning and project management including ability to maintain composure under pressure while managing multiple priorities
  • Skill in effective verbal and written communications including active listening skills and skill in presenting findings and recommendations
  • Skill in negotiating issues and resolving problems
  • Ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with co-workers, business partners, and other external contacts and to work effectively in a professional team environment
