Overview O&R EHS&Q Safety is seeking an Entry Professional (EP) to support our advanced data analytics capabilities. This position will be responsible for partnering with team members to develop analytical business solutions, using a variety of data and visualization tools to build and implement predictive models, and presenting complex analysis in clear and understandable terms.The successful candidate must be able to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This individual must be comfortable working in teams and with customers. The right candidate will have a passion for discovering solutions hidden in large data sets and developing advanced analytics solutions.
Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement predictive models, algorithms and data visualizations to drive and support key business decisions.
- Communicate and present analysis and complex ideas in easily understood terms.
- Identify process improvement initiatives leveraging advanced analytics.
- Support data analytics projects and initiatives.
- Participate in industry and other professional networks to ensure awareness of industry standards, trends, and best practices in order to strengthen organizational and technical knowledge.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop deliverables and present insights
- Communicate regularly, openly, and honestly with manager, team leads, team members and business partners using appropriate and effective methods. Raise concerns appropriately to mitigate issues.
- Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.
Qualifications
Required Education/Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Business or other related quantitative field. and at least one year of full-time or internship experience (or at least six months of cooperative or summer internship in Con Edison).
- 1 year full-time or internship experience with data analytics. Candidates that have participated in the company's full-time college cooperative or summer cooperative internships for a minimum of six months meet the EP experience requirements.
Relevant Work Experience
- Demonstrated ability to learn new technology, strong organizational skills with high level of accuracy and impeccable attention to detail, required.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Suite of Application (Word, Excel, etc.), required.
- Experience performing data analysis, developing predictive models, and presenting results, preferred.
- Experience developing applications and/or databases, preferred.
- Knowledge of Python/R/JavaScript and other scripting languages, preferred.
- Experience working with data visualization tools such as Power BI and Tableau, preferred.

Additional Physical Demands
- The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
