The Sr Software Engineer collaborates with a team of Call Center, Retail, and Web business partners in the telecommunications industry, as well as other software engineers and product management professionals, to design, implement, test, deploy, and support software that meets end users' requirements. This highly available software is built on a microservice architecture, it is crafted to be secure, stable, and scalable, and it is deployed in Kubernetes environments. The Sr Software Engineer is a team leader who supervises and assists less experienced co-workers while also independently completing technical assignments that are highly complex, requiring considerable judgment in making recommendations for solutions and resolving issues. The Sr Software Engineer normally receives little instruction on daily work, and only requires general instructions on newly introduced assignments.We are a team that encourages innovation and an agile and open approach, truly working and playing in the Un-carrier way! Job Responsibilities: Technical Engineering Services Drives engineering projects by developing software solutions; conducting tests and inspections; preparing reports and calculations. Expected to supervise base and associate level engineers as needed. Understands system protocols, how systems operate and data flows. Aware of current technology benefits. Expected to independently develop a full software stack. Understands the building blocks, interactions, dependencies, and tools required to complete software and automation work. Independent study of current technology is expected. Interact with system engineers to define system requirement and/or necessary requirements for automation. Innovation Contributes to designs to implement new ideas which utilize new frameworks to improve an existing or new system/process/service. Review existing designs and processes to highlight more efficient ways to complete existing workload more effectively through industry perspectives. Understands the creation of company IPR. Technical Leadership Collaborates with technical teams and utilizes system expertise to deliver technical solutions. Continuously learns and teaches others existing and new technologies. Contributes to the development of others through mentoring or in house workshops and learning sessions. Technology Strategy Contributes to new and existing technology options that support business goals. Understands current technology that supports business goals. Technical Writing Writes basic documentation on how technology works. Creates clear documentation for new code and systems used. Documenting systems designs, presentations, and business requirements for consumption and consideration at the manager level. Education: Bachelor's Degree Computer Science or Engineering (Required) Work Experience: 4-7 years Technical engineering experience. (Required) Expert level proficiency in the design, implementation, and maintenance of applications, processes, and documentation to support web, call center, and retail clients in the telecommunications industry. Extensive experience designing, implementing, testing, and supporting UI applications built with Adobe Experience Manager (Preferred) , Java (Required) , and Spring Boot (Required). Extensive background implementing end-user experiences against REST & SOAP APIs. Experience with Jira, Git, Gitlab, qTest, Kubernetes, Splunk, and Grafana. Experience successfully working with product management professionals to develop and deliver a product roadmap in a rapidly evolving environment. Demonstrated ability to quickly understand, deliver, and debug functionality built on highly complex architectures. Knowledge of API management principles and products such as Amazon's API Gateway. Experience with authentication and authorization tools and processes. Extensive experience leading the design and implementation of highly complex technical initiatives. Extensive experience leading, mentoring, and assisting teammates. Travel: DOT Regulated: The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate's actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range. At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee's eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance.
