Primary Duties

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. These duties and responsibilities will be rated on the Annual Performance Review.

Veteran Engagement & Intake

  • Receive and manage referrals from community partners (e.g., VA, St. Vincent de Paul, CareerSource Pinellas).

  • Conduct intake interviews to determine HVRP eligibility, including veteran and housing status.

  • Perform comprehensive needs assessments to identify employment goals, barriers, and service needs.

  • Employment Planning & Support

  • Develop individualized employment and training plans tailored to each veteran's goals and circumstances.

  • Provide job readiness training, including resume development, interview preparation, and soft skills coaching.

  • Assist veterans in accessing training programs, certifications, and GI Bill or other funding sources.

Job Development & Placement

  • Identify job opportunities aligned with veterans' skills and interests.

  • Collaborate with employers to facilitate job placements and work-based learning opportunities.

  • Support veterans through the job search and onboarding process.

Barrier Removal & Support Services

  • Refer veterans to internal and external resources for housing, transportation, childcare, mental health, and substance use treatment.

  • Coordinate with community partners to ensure wraparound support services are in place.

Follow-Up & Retention

  • Maintain regular contact with participants for up to one year post-placement to ensure job retention and satisfaction.

  • Provide ongoing employment counseling and mediation support as needed.

  • Document all services and outcomes in the SETWorks case management system.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Gather the data required and complete reports for the contacting agencies on each consumer.

  • Maintain a caseload and provide job placement/development activities that ensure the employment of consumers and provide the required follow-up activities.

  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Certification(s)

  • High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required.

  • Bachelor's degree in education, vocational rehabilitation, social work, business, or related field with two (2) years of experience; OR Master's degree in a related field with one (1) year of experience;

  • OR High school diploma or equivalent with at least five (5) years of experience in transition or supported employment services.

  • Valid driver's license and good motor vehicle record (MVR) required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience working with veterans, individuals with disabilities, or underserved populations preferred.

  • Familiarity with workforce development, job coaching, or case management is a plus.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to build trust and rapport with diverse populations.

  • Knowledge of local labor market and community resources.

  • Proficiency in documentation and data entry.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk and sit. The employee may occasionally lift or move products and supplies, up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
