About the Team

We build the connective tissue between OpenAI's mission and our enterprise customers. GTM Innovation is a product engineering team embedded in the GTM organization, focused on defining the future of work for Sales, Growth, Technical Success, and RevOps. We apply advanced capabilities to real-world interactions: reshaping conversations with customers, learning from every exchange, and finding novel ways to realize the value of our technology in the enterprise. Our work spans from greenfield 01 products to AIpowered automations built atop our platform, inspiring our customers with authentic examples of AI that drives productivity, customer experience, and revenue impact.

About the Role

We're hiring a GTM Innovation Architect: a selfstarter product engineer, architect, or data scientist who loves building new things in short, iterative cycles, and who wants to understand everything from business goals and success metrics down through the code and models that gets us there. This is a rare opportunity to shape 01 solutions that directly impact the way OpenAI's technology is experienced in the world.

You'll partner deeply with internal go-to-market stakeholders and strategic platform customers to turn ambiguous problems into production systems and own the full lifecycle from prototype to scaled rollout. You'll combine the rapid prototyping of a product-minded software engineer with the customer orientation of a solutions architect. You'll also help advance how we responsibly apply AI in gotomarket domains, and you'll collaborate with engineers, researchers, operators, and leaders across the company to feed insights back into our product and research roadmap.

This role is based in San Francisco, CA. We use a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office per week and offer relocation assistance to new employees.

In this role, you will:

  • Partner directly with GTM teams to understand technical and business needs, ideate on solutions, and lead implementation end-to-end

  • Build high-impact, LLM-powered tools and applications that improve customer outcomes and internal workflows

  • Rapidly prototype, iterate, and deploy production-grade systems, often in ambiguous and fast-moving environments

  • Serve as a technical thought partner, providing architectural guidance and domain-specific best practices to internal teams and external customers

  • Synthesize insights from field work into feedback for our Product, Applied and Research teams to influence product development and roadmap direction

You'll thrive in this role if you:

  • Have 6+ years of experience in software engineering or data science, ideally in startup-like environments

  • Proficient in a backend programming language (we use Python)

  • Have hands-on experience prototyping and deploying LLM-powered systems

  • Have a strong product mindset and enjoy shaping technical solutions with business impact in mind

  • Have a bias toward action and are comfortable owning problems end-to-end, from discovery through deployment

  • Are a strong communicator who can influence stakeholders and distill technical concepts to diverse audiences

  • Take pride in crafting elegant, durable solutions, but are not afraid to hack together quick prototypes when needed
