Financial Reporting Accountant
CPA Required | Strong GAAP Knowledge

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Financial Reporting Accountant to join their finance team. This role is responsible for preparing accurate financial statements, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, and supporting internal and external reporting requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in financial reporting, variance analysis, and technical accounting, with the ability to communicate insights effectively across departments.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Lead the preparation of technical accounting memos and ensure compliance with evolving accounting standards.
  • Analyze financial results and explain variances against budget, forecast, and prior periods.
  • Support the month-end and quarter-end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Assist in the preparation of SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q) if applicable.
  • Conduct research on complex accounting issues and provide recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Collaborate with FP&A and accounting teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and responding to inquiries.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required.
  • 4-6 years of progressive experience in financial reporting, public accounting, or corporate finance.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and technical accounting principles.
  • Proven experience in variance analysis and financial statement interpretation.
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, NetSuite) and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco/Highspring notes the salary range for the role is noted in this job posting. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company's 401(k) retirement plan.
