As a CO+I CE Technician Manager, you will perform a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform. Responsibilities Critical Environment Culture- Understands, follows, and ensures safety and security requirements, while adhering to business processes and procedures to perform work safely, reliably, and in compliance with applicable regulations.- Recognizes and responds to safe versus unsafe working conditions, taking immediate action when necessary, and promoting a safe working culture to empower less experienced team members.- Participates in required meetings, trainings, and handoffs, while assessing and identifying appropriate resources and equipment to support environmental health and safety objectives.- Actively maintains safe working conditions at all times, ensuring safety and security requirements are met for their own work and that of others. Equipment and Systems Maintenance- Prepare and submit highly complex reports, adhering to preexisting scripts and templates or using ad hoc methods for trending and analysis (e.g., Root Cause Analysis [RCA] reports), and review prior reports from less experienced team members for accuracy and completeness.- Develop and oversee methods of operating procedures (MOPs), standard operating procedures (SOPs), and/or digital methods of operating procedures (DMOPs) for complex and interdependent equipment and disciplines, ensuring safe and reliable execution, while assigning and overseeing procedure development and reporting.- Act as a subject matter expert, independently troubleshooting multiple equipment, systems, subsystems, and components, documenting issues, and providing consultation to less experienced colleagues. Ensure troubleshooting completion paths are escalated appropriately, and perform inspections, testing, and commissioning activities.- Guide and perform various types of maintenance (e.g., planned, predictive, corrective) and repairs for multiple disciplines and equipment types without supervision, while serving as a subject matter expert. Communicate and/or escalate maintenance activities as needed, and ensure follow-up action items are addressed promptly. Equipment and Systems Operations- Oversee and participate in the regular inspection and supervision of critical environment-related facility equipment, ensuring the identification and analysis of unsafe or abnormal conditions.- Utilize telemetry, control systems, and other platforms to monitor site status and analyze events, providing technical expertise and advice to less experienced colleagues on equipment behavior and potential issues.- Independently handle complex tasks such as stabilization, resolution, and recovery, while serving as an operations specialist and providing oversight and mentorship to team members.- Lead onsite incident response teams for abnormal conditions, develop and follow emergency procedures, coordinate corrective repairs, and communicate with leadership to ensure effective incident management and resolution.
