What you will be doing at Globalstar

As a Data Scientist, you will provide data analytics support across all technical areas of the company primarily in Satellite and Cellular wireless systems. This will require you to build a deep understanding of the underlying datasets while working with system owners to validate their analyses. You will participate in mathematical and statistical analysis along with data visualization using SQL and Python.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Build metrics collection pipelines from distributed infrastructure systems
• Integrate and clean large datasets from disparate sources
• Work with system owners to establish Service Level Objectives for their systems
• Work with Operations and Reliability Engineers to develop dashboards and alerts
• Work with Systems Engineers to analyze large datasets of real-world system performance data to inform design decisions and optimize network performance
• Measure the accuracy of simulation models compared to operational data at scale

What you will bring to Globalstar

• Bachelor's or higher in Electrical Engineering with Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Physics or Computer Engineering
• Fundamental understanding of Electrical Engineering Principles
• 3+ years of professional-post graduate Data Science experience in an Engineering Environment
• 3+ years of Data Analytics experience
• 3+ years of programming experience with C, Python, R, and/or MATLAB
• Experience optimizing complex SQL queries for large datasets
• Strong background in Postgres, MongoDB or MySQL
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Matplotlib, R, MATLAB, Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, or Grafana

It's a bonus if you have:

• Master's or higher in Electrical Engineering with Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Physics or Computer Engineering
• Experience with data analysis for cellular telecommunication performance data
• Understanding of Beam forming and MIMO wireless system
• Familiarity with AWS data pipeline tools (S3, Kinesis, Kinesis Analytics, etc.)
• Should be able to understand datasets for wireless communication systems

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
