CNC Technician - Optical Manufacturing (Cutting) Location:Richardson, TX Job ID: #71348 Pay Range: $27-29 CNC Technician, Optical Manufacturing (Cutting) Shift: 1st Shift Only Working Hours: 6:00 AM - 3:30 PM Job Description: Manufacture precision optics and optical components. Read and interpret optical drawings/specs including GD&T. Interpret interferograms, CMM reports, and other metrology data. Independently set up and operate lathes, flycutters, polishing equipment, and other manual/CNC machines. Use interferometers and CMMs to inspect parts for quality. Collaborate with manufacturing engineering and technicians. Maintain a clean and safe work area. Job requires standing 80-90%, walking 10-20%, bending 20%, lifting < 15 lbs. Required Skills: Attention to detail and ability to follow directions. Strong geometry and trigonometry skills. Ability to work any shift including compressed schedules. Multi-tasking skills for managing multiple machines. Dexterity handling delicate optical components. Desired Skills: Two-year technical degree preferred. Basic knowledge of cutting tools, speeds, and feeds. Experience measuring ultra-precision components. Experience setting up and cutting freeform optical components. CNC G-Code programming experience. Experience with Calypso or DIFFSYS programming. Experience with surface quality standards and inspection methods.
