The research lab at the FIU Center for Translational Science (CTS) is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Laboratory Technician to join a dynamic and multidisciplinary team investigating mitochondrial regulation of cardiovascular metabolism. Our research focuses on nutrient flux, redox balance, and metabolic signaling in both physiological and pathological states using cutting-edge techniques in metabolomics, stable isotope tracing, and animal physiology. Assists with day-to-day experimental operations, manage the mouse colony, and help ensure smooth lab functioning, working closely with the principal investigator and senior research staff

• Performs laboratory experiments involving Molecular biology techniques, mammalian cell culture and transfection, In vivo physiology and metabolic assessments, RNA isolation and analysis (e.g., qPCR), protein analysis (e.g., SDS-PAGE, Western blotting), and Metabolomics and stable isotope tracing.
• Assists with animal colony maintenance that includes breeding, genotyping, weaning, and record keeping.
• Operates and helps maintain GC-MS and LC-MS systems for small molecule analysis.
• Supports lab organization and inventory (e.g., ordering supplies, managing reagents).
• Participates in weekly lab meetings and contribute to discussions on experimental design, troubleshooting, and results interpretation.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of procedures and experimental outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with institutional safety regulations for biological and chemical materials.

High school diploma and five (5) years of experience, or Associate's degree and three (3) years of experience.

• Prior experience with mass spectrometry is a plus.
• Education in Biology or related field.
