Your Job

Georgia-Pacific is looking for a Shift Capability Leader to lead our Tissue Converting department at the Pennington, AL facility, where you'll report to the Production Leader and directly guide a team of 15-30 professionals. In this role, you'll champion operational excellence and continuous improvement, foster individual development and ownership, and collaborate closely with the Department Operations Team to drive sustainable, long-term value in alignment with our Principle-Based Management vision.

What You Will Do

  • Lead and foster an Ownership Based Work System by developing principled business owners and rolling out Performance, Skills & Qualifications programs.
  • Identify and close Master Tech and Technician performance gaps by measuring outcomes across the work platform and collaborating with manufacturing engineers and departmental leaders.
  • Manage HR administration-including payroll, timekeeping, attendance, and performance evaluations-to ensure seamless operations.
  • Align roles, responsibilities, and expectations (RR&E) with mill and organizational goals to maximize long-term value.
  • Execute Leader Standard Work to inspect performance, hold individuals accountable for operating strategies, and drive results.
  • Develop processes and systems that enable consistent knowledge transfer and continuous learning.
  • Serve as incident commander to coordinate critical communications and resources when required.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • At least two years of leadership experience in a manufacturing or military setting
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office-including Excel (charts, cell formatting), Outlook (email management, folder organization, calendar scheduling), Word (document creation, formatting, tables, process documentation), and PowerPoint (presentation development and delivery)
  • Proven track record managing and evaluating the performance of direct reports
