Position Summary

Organization: New Mexico Museum of Natural History & Science

Location: 1801 Mountain Rd NW, Albuquerque, NM 87104

An Off-Campus Work-Study Position - MUST have Work-Study Award

The Exhibit Fabrication Assistant supports the Exhibit Fabrication
team in building, repairing, and maintaining museum exhibit components. This
role involves hands-on work in a shop environment, collaborating with Exhibits
staff in the installation and deinstallation of exhibitions. This position
works a maximum of 15 hours per week (30 hours per two-week pay period).

Key Responsibilities:

Repair exhibit casework and components using wood and metal shop tools and follow all safety procedures and protocols while using tools and equipment.

Prepare and paint gallery walls, exhibit furniture, and casework to exhibition standards.

Assist with the installation and removal of exhibits within museum spaces.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working independently with attention to detail with hand and power tools in a workshop setting.

Comfortable working on ladders and lifting materials up to 40 lbs.

Availability to work
weekdays, Monday through Friday, between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
